When you drive up to the Woodside Animal Clinic in Royal Oak, Michigan for the first time you will see a free standing building which is covered with rough sawn cedar and has a western facades complete with hitching posts, wagon wheels and iron horse heads. There are flowers and plants in oak barrel planters and also a small garden on the north side. Parking is along the Woodward front or in the side parking lot. Upon entering the building you will find a clean, comfortable waiting room with a friendly, non medical decor and welcoming receptionist. Because Dr. Simon is the only veterinarian at Woodside and because Woodside schedules more time for each exam than most clinics, the waiting room is calm and quiet. Furthermore, in order to maintain a peaceful atmosphere we do our best to get our patients in an exam room as soon as they arrive.
You will find that our veterinary staff loves pets and is committed to caring for them as if they were they were their own. At Woodside we have licensed veterinary technicians and well trained veterinary assistants. Our staff is very knowledgeable and all are happy to answer any questions you may have.
You will be happy to know that you and your pet will see the same veterinarian, Dr. Simon, on each and every visit. Dr. Simon believes that on going client education is a very important avenue in extending the health and longevity of your pet and so he looks forward to telling you about new developments in health care and is always happy to answer any questions you may have.
On your first visit please bring in what ever medical records you have and also any medicines or supplements your pet may be receiving. It is important to come in 20 minutes early on the first visit so you can fill out our new client registration form which allows us to enter your pet into our computer. If you do not come in early for paper work, out of necessity, there will be less time available for Dr. Simon to spend with you.
Your visit to Woodside will be completed in the exam room. Going over directions for all medications and supplements dispensed and completing the financial transactions in the exam room helps avoid any aggression between animals and maintains the peaceful quiet atmosphere. If there is the need for scheduling a second follow up exam our receptionist will take care of that in the exam room as well.
As are most veterinarians, we are now recommending twice yearly health exams in order to discover hidden health problems early, before symptoms are obvious, and to allow us to discuss the latest health alerts and new technologies. We will contact you through either regular mail or email when your pet is due for exams or any needed tests and vaccinations. Please provide us your email so we can send you semi annual newsletters .
Finally, on the first visit only, we do not accept checks. The credit or debit cards we accept are Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. We also accept Care Credit for all in house services but not for products or out side laboratory fees.
